It is the responsibility of everyone — clergy, administrators, teachers, staff, as well as all of our committed volunteers — to help create a safe environment for all of our children. As part of that commitment, we are all asked to complete Safe Environment Training once each year (July 1—June 30).
All volunteers are required to complete the three-hour “Called To Protect For Ministries” Foundation Course prior to volunteering in any capacity at the parish. This requirement is mandated by the Diocese of Phoenix for the safety of our children. This course is offered at the parish, as well as other parishes throughout the Valley. You only need to take this three-hour foundation course once. For upcoming training dates at SSJC, see the listing below. To pre-register for any class listed, or to check for training classes at another location nearer you, see the “Register for Classes” link at:
www.safeenvironmenttraining.org
For all volunteers who have already taken the “Called To Protect For Ministries” Foundation Course, a Safe Environment RENEWAL course must be taken annually (July 1—June 30) in order to be compliant with diocesan policy. Renewal courses will be available at SS. Simon and Jude Parish, at other parishes in the Diocese of Phoenix, and online. In order to check your status, click on the link above and choose the “My Obligation” link. You will also use this website to register for a course at any site, or you can take your Renewal course via the online format on the same website.
Thank you for your service in ministry at SS. Simon and Jude Cathedral, and thank you for taking the time to educate yourself on the many ways we can work together to keep all of our children safe.
